Chopok is one of the biggest and most popular winter sport
centres situated 15 km away from Liptovsky Mikulas and 60
km from the Poprad airport. It lies in the upper part of
Demanovska dolina. It is a part of the National Low Tatras
(Nízke
Tatry) Park on
the northern slopes of Chopok and Deresov on the height 950
to 2024 m. Ski resort of Jasna stretches on both sides of
the Chopok peak. This area is ranked very high among the
most popular and the largest winter-sport centres of Slovakia.
Thanks to its remarkable surroundings, the area has been
classified as the 1st category tourist resort with international
significance.
